Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino security disarms man threatening to shoot people
Niagara Falls October 24 2019
A Buffalo man was arrested on multiple charges early Tuesday morning at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino after threatening to shoot a man during an incident on the gaming floor, according to the Niagara Falls Police Department.
Ken Wong, 52, was charged with felony counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and third-degree menacing after police said he told a man “I’ll shoot you!” at the baccarat table.
Police said Seneca Niagara Casino security detained Wong and took a silver .38 Special revolver from Wong, and then called police.
According to police, the complainant said that while he was at the baccarat table, Wong approached him and used profanity before saying, “Come outside, I’ll shoot you.”
According to police and a sworn statement from Seneca Niagara Casino security, Wong and another man were arguing on the gaming floor. The Seneca Niagara Casino security manager recognized Wong and the other man from a similar incident Sunday night, when the same complainant requested that security contact police because Wong told the man “that he was going to shoot him.”
When security personnel approached Wong, they asked if he had a firearm on him, police said. Wong said he did have a gun, police said, and security restrained him as they removed the handgun from his pocket. Wong was placed in handcuffs by casino security and the police were notified.
The complainant said that he and Wong are acquaintances and that the incidents were related to a dispute over money.
Wong was placed in custody and transported to Niagara Falls Police Department headquarters. He was arraigned, is out on bail and scheduled to be in court at 9 a.m. Friday.
