Shooting at Blow Hookah Lounge leaves security guard in critical condition
CORDOVA, Tenn. May 29 2021
Memphis police say Kavious McNeil, 27, was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting at Blow Hookah Lounge.
According to an affidavit, McNeil was seen on video arguing and pushing a security guard. The guard was seen pushing McNeil as well.
McNeil pulled out a pistol and fired one shot, hitting the guard in the neck, records show.
The guard was then seen on video running into the club, followed by McNeil, who attempted to shoot him again, according to witnesses.
The guard was taken to Regional One in critical condition.
McNeil was arrested after being shot by another security guard, records show.
He is charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, and Possession of a Firearm During a Dangerous Felony.
Two people were taken to the hospital overnight after a shooting at a hookah bar, according to MPD.
The shooting happened at Blow Hookah Lounge on Exocet Drive in Cordova.
Memphis Fire officials confirmed a call came around 12:30 a.m.
Two people were taken to Regional One, police said.
Preliminary information indicates a suspect shot a victim, then another person shot the suspect, police said.
The victim is in non-critical condition, while the suspect is listed in critical condition.
