Shooting reported at Pooler GA. Sam’s Club
Pooler GA Feb 25 2019
Pooler police have one person in custody and are searching for another after a Saturday night shooting injured one person and resulted in a high-speed chase through Chatham County.
Around 7 p.m., police responded to the Sam’s Club on Pooler Parkway to a shooting, said Pooler Police Chief Ashley Brown.
The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officials say the shooting was related to an early Friday morning shooting in Effingham County that injured a 10-year-old child.
Deputies responded to the 100 Block of Burt Tree Drive just after 4 a.m. The girl was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gena Sullivan.
“That incident started an investigation that led us to Pooler,” she said. “We have been working jointly with the Pooler Police Department in that investigation and that led us to tonight’s events.”
After Saturday’s shooting, the suspect then led police on a chase from Pooler to Savannah’s southside.
“The chase ended somewhere in Windsor Forest,” said Brown.
One person was arrested and police are still searching for a 25-year-old black female.
Surrounding agencies are looking for the second suspect, Cierra Mims. Mims is a black female, 25 years old standing 5ft 8inches and 118 pounds. Anyone with information should contact Pooler Police Department, Crime Stoppers at (912) 234-2020 or their local Police Department.
Brown said that both shootings were not random and the public should not fear a random crime spree.
“Both events were not random acts of violence,” he said. “Both were very specific. Both were very targeted. And both appear to be very intentional. “
No other information was immediately available.
