Shoplifter rode bike through Bayshore and stole pizza, according to Glendale police
GLENDALE WI May 17 2018 – An 18-year-old Milwaukee man allegedly stole clothing from Champs Sports, fled on bike through Bayshore Town Center and stole a slice of pizza from Rocky Rococo’s at about 11:39 a.m. Sunday, May 6.
The 18-year-old originally tried to ride his bike into Champs Sports, but was told he was not allowed to ride his bike into the store. He then re-entered the store — on foot this time — and allegedly stole a hooded sweatshirt and a pair of pants worth $121, according to a police report.
Bayshore security guards followed the 18-year-old as he rode his bike through the mall. The security guards saw him jump over the counter of Rocky Rococo’s and take a slice of pizza, telling the employee behind the counter that he was hungry.
The Rocky Rococo’s employee said they did not want to be a complainant in the pizza theft, but the 18-year-old was cited for the retail theft at Champs.
The man fled Bayshore on his bike, but Glendale police arrested him in the 5500 block of Mohawk Avenue, according to their report. In his backpack, police found a MacBook laptop that was stolen early May 6 from a car parked in the 4900 block of Port Washington Road, according to police. He received a municipal citation for that theft, as well.
Police also found an LG cell phone in the young man’s backpack. Police determined the phone had been stolen from the Verizon store at Bayshore Town Center. The 18-year-old received another retail theft citation for the alleged phone theft.
