Shots fired, fights and pepper spray: Saturday at Big Kahuna’s Bar takes criminal turn
CONWAY, S.C. February 21 2019 A Myrtle Beach man was arrested Saturday following a fight at Big Kahunas Bar and Grille in Conway, according to Horry County Police.
HCPD officers say when they arrived on scene, two security guards and a Conway PD unit were still there. They were advised that a fight had broken out inside the bar, then moved out into the parking lot.
The fight continued to grow, and security deployed pepper spray, which they said did not have the desired result. Police say the crowd eventually dispersed and went to their respective vehicles.
Not long after, victim 1 said they heard gun shots being fired and saw muzzle flashes coming from another vehicle. Victim 1 then fired back at the vehicle, according to the report.
Victim 2 told police that her vehicle was damaged during the fight. Officers confirmed that her passenger side view mirror was damaged, the report states.
Police say a BOLO was put out for the suspect vehicle, which was then located by a South Carolina State Trooper on Highway 501. The trooper followed the vehicle until it stopped at a nearby Waffle House, where the suspects and arrestee exited and went into the restaurant.
Additional units arrived and the suspects and arrestee were detained. Police say the arrestee originally gave false information about his name. Jaquan Jerry Lee Wilson, 24, of Myrtle Beach was charged with giving false information to law enforcement and transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
