Shots fired-security officer carjacked
DETROIT MI Oct 2 2017 – A security officer was left shaken but otherwise unharmed after shots were fired at him as he was carjacked at gunpoint Saturday in Detroit, police said.
Police said the victim was on duty and sitting in his vehicle at about 7:30 a.m. at the Eastwood Convalescent Center nursing home in the 600 block of East Grand Boulevard.
Two armed men approached the victim, fired one shot and demanded the vehicle, police said.
The 29-year-old victim’s 2009 tan Dodge Charger was stolen, police said.
The first carjacker was described as a black man wearing a face mask. He had a handgun, police said.
The second carjacker was described as a Hispanic man, police said. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He was wearing all black and had a handgun, police said.
A search of the area by police did not turn up any suspects.
The robbery remains under investigation.
