Song prompts 200 teens to explode into massive fight at skating rink, witnesses say

Police are still investigating what spurred a massive fight involving over 200 teens and adults at a local skating ring.
While some report that gunfire erupted and caused the brawl, others say that it was a song that came on the sound system that a strong gang overtone.
Whatever it was, dozens of police officers from several agencies were needed to restore law and order and keep the peace at this business.
Officers say they were called to 140 Hershberger Rd. just before 1 a.m,. after the group refused orders from employees to stop fighting and to leave the business.
Roanoke Police say they were called about the massive fight Sunday to the Roanoke’s Star City Skate Center, “and found close to 200 individuals, including teens and adults involved in a brawl.
Numerous people at the skating ring said that the song that started it all has not been identified, but “gang signs soon led to 95 percent of the room” hitting each other, the station said.
“It was crazy…They had it out. They were running with it,” Nicholas Gilliam Jr. told area reporters.
Police said that all of the juveniles that were fighting “were turned over to their parents or caretakers” by police.
Police did not report any injuries or arrests.
