St. Charles County police officer shot while working security for fireworks tent
ST LOUIS MO July 6 2018 A St. Charles County police officer is recovering after he was shot while on the job early Wednesday.
According to St. Charles city police spokesman Sgt. Dave Horton, the county officer was working security at a fireworks tent in the 1400 block of South 5th Street when he confronted two suspects trying to steal items around 2:30 am.
“One of the suspects fired at the county officers and grazed his upper body. The suspects fled the area,” he says.
They remain at large. The unidentified officer was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call St. Charles city police.
