St. Francis Hospital security guard arrested for punching ambulance patient
MONROE, La. April 7 2019 Monroe Police arrested a St. Francis Hospital security guard after choking a patient in an ambulance.
Officers spoke with the victim who said once he arrived by ambulance to the hospital he told the security guard, 35-year-old George Mcdaniel of Rayville. The victim told Mcdaniel he wanted to leave before he was choked and lost consciousness.
Police say video footage showed the victim sitting up on the stretcher and Mcdaniel restraining him by holding him down before letting go to punch the victim’s forehead. Mcdaniel then handcuffed the victim to the stretcher before he punched him again.
Mcdaniel told police the victim was trying to touch him.
Mcdaniel was arrested and transported to OCC.
He was charged with Second Degree Battery.
