St Thomas shoplifter arrested after fleeing store security
St Thomas Dec 24 2017 A person stole meat and electronics from the Real Canadian Superstore in St. Thomas on Thursday prompting a two-hour investigation and subsequent arrest.
The incident happened around 7 p.m., police say.
Police say a person entered the store with a backpack and started to fill it with items around the store. When they went to leave, a security guard tried to stop him, but the person jumped on his bicycle and fled.
He was caught on Talbot Street two hours later.
Police charged a 24-year-old man with theft and three counts of failing to comply with his release orders. He was later released.
