Steaks fall from pockets as shoplifting suspect is detained

Several packages of steaks fell from a man’s jacket pockets recently when officers stopped him walking from the scene of a reported shoplifting, Town of Niagara Police reported.
According to reports, Robert B. Patrick, 36, of LaSalle Avenue, Niagara Falls, was stopped by police while walking down Military Road on Jan. 8, minutes after a shoplifting was reported at the Tops Market at 4235 Military.
They said that as they approached Patrick, $91 worth of steaks fell out of the pockets of his jacket, still bearing Tops tags. The stolen merchandise was returned to the store.
Patrick was charged with petit larceny and was later turned over to Niagara Falls Police after it was learned that he had an outstanding arrest warrant in that city.
