Store security stops women during theft incident

Police were called by a security officer reporting a theft in progress.
Officers responded when the two women attempted to steal merchandise about noon Aug. 4 from the Discount Drug Mart on Detroit near Cohassett Avenue.
Police said that a security officer confronted them and the women fled from the store prior to officers arriving.
According to a police, one of the women left her cell phone behind.
The incident is under investigation.
