Student shot to death at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem NC

Police responded to the scene of a shooting at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem
Wednesday.
Winston-Salem police said the call came in from the school resource officer just after 12 p.m. Wednesday that one student has been shot on school property, located at 342 Petree Road.
The shooter remains at large.
One student is dead, all other students are safe.
We are actively seeking the suspect. We have no confirmed information of any other shootings or injuries.

1:41 p.m. UPDATE: The Robinhood Road Family YMCA is temporarily closed while the parking lot is used as a staging area for local law enforcement responding to the current situation at Mount Tabor High School.
1:30 P.M. UPDATE: Authorities have confirmed that one person was shot.
All Mount Tabor High School students are being taken by bus to the Robinhood Road YMCA to meet their parents/guardians.
The school has about 1,530 students enrolled.
1:25 P.M. UPDATE: Parkland High School has been placed on lockdown. It is unclear if it is related to the situation at Mount Tabor.
1:13 p.m. UPDATE: Parents are urged to meet their students at the Robinhood Road YMCA, 3474 Robinhood Rd.
1 p.m. UPDATE: The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that there has been a shooting at Mount Tabor High School.
Police have secured the campus and police said they are doing everything to keep students safe.
Deputies are actively investigation what happened and will share more information when available.
Parents are urged to meet their students at the Harris Teeter grocery store, 1955 N. Peace Haven Road, or the Robinhood Road YMCA, 3474 Robinhood Rd.
12:50 p.m. UPDATE: Mount Tabor High School is currently on lockdown, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
12:45 p.m. UPDATE: Parents are urged to not go to the high school to find their students.
