Sumter County Sheriff’s Office mourns the loss of their deputies
SUMTER COUNTY, SC Oct 2 2017
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their deputies.
The department posted on Facebook saying Corporal Albert Bernard Thomas passed away in the early hours of Sunday. In a statement released later in the day on Sunday, the department said he died from natural causes.
Corporal Thomas worked in law enforcement for six years but he had worked with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office for three of those years.
The department called Thomas family and said he will “certainly be missed.”
SCSO asks for everyone to keep Thomas’ family, along with the department, in their thoughts and prayers.
It is with a great deal of sadness that I inform you of the passing of Corporal Albert Bernard Thomas. Corporal Thomas passed away in the early hours of this morning.
Corporal Thomas was in law enforcement for almost 6 years. However, we at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office had the pleasure of working with him for 3 years.
He was certainly an asset to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Sumter Community; which he so proudly served. He was our family; our law enforcement family. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office will certainly miss him.
I am asking each of you to please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you,
Sheriff Anthony Dennis
