Suspected shoplifter shot by security guard at downtown Louisville Walgreens

A person who is accused of shoplifting has been shot by a security officer
at a Walgreen store according to police.
The Louisville Metro Police Department said that it responded to a shooting inside the store at 200 W. Broadway St.
A security officer told them that the man suspected of theft, resisted, and fought with the security guard and at around 9 p.m. Saturday and that he shot the person.
Police say the victim was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Metro police said that the investigation is underway and at this time, no charges have been filed.
