Suspicious package shuts down Monroe Regional Airport

An emergency was declared at the Monroe Regional Airport after police say that they were notified of a bomb.
Airport security and police, local fire and EMS all responded to the airport.
According to police, TSA called them around 5:30 a.m. about a suspicious package found at the baggage claim. The bomb squad responded, inspected and removed the package.
Airline employees and customers were all been evacuated.
All roads leading to the airport were also blocked off.
Flights in and out of the airport was also stopped.
Police gave the all clear after several hours and the airport operations resumed.
