Syracuse nightclub bouncer stabbed
Syracuse, N.Y. June 28 2022— A bouncer at a downtown Syracuse nightclub was stabbed after denying a man entry Friday night, police said.
Around 11:40 p.m., police received reports of a stabbing at Orbis Lounge, 134 East Genesee St., near Hanover Square, according to a news release from Syracuse police.
A 24-year-old bouncer was stabbed in the midsection after he refused to let a male suspect into the nightclub, police said. He was reported to be conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived.
The bouncer was taken to Upstate University Hospital. He is expected to survive, police said.
Police tape was stretched around a section of the patio area in front of the nightclub.
Two police officers were seen standing near a sneaker across the street from where the stabbing was reported.
