Teen Accused of Threatening Security Guard With knife at Coast Shopping Center

A 13-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly threatening a security guard with a knife at a popular Southport shopping centre yesterday.
Police were called to the center on Marine Parade just before 11.00am on Friday, following reports of an armed boy.
A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC the youngster allegedly became violent after the security guard asked him to leave the shopping centre.
When officers arrived and tried to arrest him, he allegedly lashed out, kicking two police officers in the head.
He’s since been charged with a string of offences including going armed so as to cause fear, wilful damage, obstructing police and assault of police.
He will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
