Teenager charged for sexual battery incident at William James Middle School
BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. Feb 7 2020 A teenager has been charged for a reported sexual battery incident at William James Middle School.
According to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, a 14-year-old boy is charged with sexual battery, child molestation, and false imprisonment.
The sheriff’s office states that the school resource deputy was made aware of a sexual battery incident that had taken place during school hours at Williams James Middle on Tuesday, Feb. 4. A girl told the school resource officer that a boy followed her into the girl’s bathroom and touched her.
The teenager is being held in a Juvenile Detention facility pending further court action.

“On Tuesday, February 4, during school hours while classes were in session, a 14-year-old, male student at William James Middle School followed a 14-year-old female student into a bathroom. The female student did not incur any physical injuries, but appropriately reported the incident to school personnel. Administrators immediately informed the school’s resource officer, Deputy Bubba Revell of the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Department.
School administrators and law enforcement worked together to thoroughly investigate the report. As a result of the information and evidence obtained, Deputy Revell affected an arrest of the male juvenile He was charged with sexual battery, child molestation, and false imprisonment. He is in custody pending further court action.
Safety is a daily priority. Partnerships with law enforcement and school resource officers are crucial to school safety. We applaud our students’ willingness to report inappropriate and criminal behavior, swift action by law enforcement, and the community’s support of safety investments through approval of the E-SPLOST IV. The recent installation of upgraded security cameras in all schools is a vital tool for our safety efforts.
The WJMS Principal has made the school’s faculty and parents aware of the incident. She has also counseled faculty and staff to direct any students who may need assistance in dealing with this issue to appropriate administrators and staff.
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office will be issuing a statement to the news media later today about the incident and arrest of the student.”
