Boston MA August 10 2023
Two teenagers were arrested and charged after the Boston Police Department said a Macy’s security guard was attacked by the teenagers with a knife and pillows.
On Monday, officers responded to the Macy’s, which is located at at 450 Washington St. in Boston, for a report of stabbing. Officials said the teenagers were “causing a disturbance” on the bottom level of the store.
Macy’s security responded and said the teenagers, ages 13 and 15, became aggressive towards security. Police said the teens then struck a security guard “multiple times” with pillows before one of the teenagers pulled out a knife and held it to the security guard’s stomach.
The security officer attempted to take the knife from the teenager and was “punched multiple times.” He also was cut on his hand, Boston police said.
The security guard feared for his safety, police said and attempted to leave the area. The teenagers then followed the guard. A second security guard tried to help but was also attacked by the teenagers, who then left the store, officials said.
When officers found the two teenagers, they found a knife in one of the teenager’s pants pockets. The second teenager also had a knife in his waistband.
The 13-year-old and 15-year-old were both charged with delinquent to wit, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon to wit knife, and delinquent to wit, assault and battery. Both are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court. Their names were not released.
