Teens steal, create havoc all for fun
Charlotte NC March 12th 2021
Police say that young teens have plotted to commit large scale retail thefts, robberies, and in some cases teens created chaos for their own enjoyment at businesses in at least nine different cities since the beginning of the year.
All of the incidents seem to be unrelated yet, in each incident, police say that the teens had preplanned their attacks, staged nearby and coordinated an entrance into the business and executed in some cases, in military fashion.
In Atlanta, at least a dozen teens entered and shoplifted more than $20,000 of merchandise from a retail store at a mall already plagued by crime.
A gang of teens are also to blame for at least two other strong-arm robberies in Houston Texas and a gang of almost 400 teens caused a disturbance at a trampoline park in North Carolina over the weekend.
Lowell police, a small suburb city just outside of Charlotte said that the business which normally employs two off duty police officers on the weekends suddenly saw a surge of teens enter the business and immediately began throwing things and fighting with their teen customers.
They continued to surge into the business creating fights and a large ruckus while police from several law enforcement agencies responded. On this weekend the business did not have any off-duty police officers on duty.
During the past two months, security officers have also been assaulted and in one incident in Kansas City, knocked unconscious, by teen groups roaming through businesses stealing, creating havoc, and running uncontrollably through businesses.
Malls, high-end retailers, and entertainment venues seem to be their prime targets police said.
Business owners, many who have already fallen victim to recent vandalism and thefts during earlier riots say that they have had enough and plan on fighting back.
A detective with the NYPD said that these groups have nothing on the “flash mobs” that stores have seen for the past few years. These groups care nothing about hurting someone while stealing, creating large disturbances or vandalizing property.
