Tempe police investigating after security officer shoots himself and a coworker

Tempe Police and Tempe Fire Medical Rescue crews responded to reports of 2 gunshot victims at the office of Celtic Cross Security located in an office plaza at 1505 East Weber Drive in Tempe.
According to a Tempe Police Sergeant on scene, officers arrived on scene locating 2 adult gunshot victims inside the office.
Officers were informed by security staff that a security guard accidentally discharged his firearm into his hand.
The bullet pierced the guard’s hand and struck a second security guard standing nearby.
Both individuals were transported to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Tempe Police officers will remain on scene throughout the early morning investigating the incident.
