KNOXVILLE, Tenn. January 10 2019 –A Tennessee nurse was doused in gasoline by an unknown assailant while outside the hospital where she works according to police.
The Knoxville Police Department reports the assault took place on Sunday outside of Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
Police say the nurse had parked her vehicle outside the hospital and unloaded several items inside before starting her shift. When she returned to the vehicle, a white male wearing a white jacket or hoodie with black pants made a derogatory remark before pouring a small amount of kerosene on her.
The suspect left the scene before hospital security could find him. However, they were able to find evidence belonging to him.
Police say so far, there is no indication this is the same suspect who attacked a Knoxville Police Officer from behind with a tire iron in November after a Volunteers game.
The suspect is described as a white male standing 5’9″ tall, wearing the white hoodie or jacket and black pants. Anyone with information is asked to call 865-215-7212.
