Texas man intentionally crashes into grocery store and assaults security officer

An Odessa man is facing multiple charges after police said he intentionally crashed into the HEB on 42nd Street and fought with a security guard.
According to the Odessa Police Department, officers received a call about a major crash at the store at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
When they arrived, they discovered Gonzolo Armendariz had crashed his Toyota Pathfinder through the main entrance of the grocery store causing $50,000 worth of damage and that he then fought with the security guard.
Officers also learned an intoxicated and armed Armendariz pulled a fire alarm, an OPD news release stated.
Armendariz was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, unlawfully carrying a weapon, false alarm, assault on a security officer, criminal mischief $30,000-$150,000, and assault causing bodily injury.
Armendariz was released from the Ector County jail Sunday after posting surety bonds totaling $46,500.
