Texas Sheriff’s Deputy Killed in Collision with Semi Truck

A Texas sheriff’s deputy died in a collision with a tractor-trailer Saturday.
The incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. as Loving County Deputy Lorin Readmond was on her way to help a fellow deputy on a call, The Associated Press reports. That’s when she was in a crash with a semi.
Readmond had been with the sheriff’s department since 2019. She also served as a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
The tractor-trailer’s driver was not injured in the collision. The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
