The bear who came for a visit at the mall has been captured

Shopping malls usually welcome your business and invite anyone and everyone but one visitor did not receive such a warm welcome at the Henderson Place Mall Friday.
It seems that it was very hot outside and this visitor found it to be much nicer and cooler in the parking area. But that proved to be the wrong place to be for a black bear that wandered in Friday afternoon.
As temperatures soared, the black bear walked into the underground parking lot at Henderson Place mall, drawing police and conservation officers to the scene.
The bear was subsequently trapped and tranquilized by BC Conservation officers who entered the underground lot in a truck.
The public was not in danger.
According to Coquitlam RCMP, the bear was walking in the area from PoCo Place Mall across the street.
“It didn’t seem to worry about people,” said Sgt. Grant Wong.
