Three fights at Walden Galleria prompt lockdown inside mall
CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. December 28 2018
After multiple fights broke out inside the Walden Galleria mall, security called for police back up and officers from numerous agencies responded.
Police ordered an immediate lock-down of the all as they pushed dozens of teenagers out of the mall Wednesday night.
At around 6:30 p.m., shoppers inside the Galleria were locked inside stores while security and law enforcement tried to get the crowds of young people involved in the fights under control.
At one point, police kept everyone inside the mall as they began investigating the chaotic scene.
Some stores out shoppers in their store and closed the gates. One store even out people into a stockroom for safety.
Cheektowaga Police confirmed no shots were fired and there were no reported injuries.
Police report that two arrests were made in connection to the fights. One person was arrested for disorderly conduct and a second for menacing.
