Three juveniles wanted in murder of woman found inside a bullet-riddled SUV
Washington DC Dec 8 2021 A woman was found dead inside a bullet-riddled SUV in Washington D.C. and police have since launched a manhunt to find juvenile suspects wanted in connection with the shooting, according to reports.
Police were alerted via ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system, to at least 20 shots being fired in the 1100 block of Eastern Avenue just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, according to WUSA9.
When officers arrived, they found a woman with multiple gunshot injuries inside the SUV and subsequently pronounced her dead, the network reported.
D.C. police said three juvenile suspects had been in a gold SUV while they traveled westbound on Eastern Avenue.
Officials are now offering upwards of $25,000 to anyone who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of the person or people responsible for the homicide.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, a database that collects data about shootings from across the U.S., 200 people have died as a result of a fatal gunshot in Washington D.C. this year.
Of those gun violence victims, 32 were women, according to the database.
According to the MPD, homicides in Washington D.C. this year stood at 205, as of December 3. This represents a 10 percent jump on last year where 186 people died as a result of homicide, according to the MPD’s figures.
Violent crime in the city is so far up by one percent as of December 3 with 3,781 incidents being recorded over last year’s 3,739 cases.
Property crime, including burglary, theft and arson, is up overall by two percent this year so far with 22,316 recorded incidents. Last year, there were 21,797 property crimes recorded by the MPD.
Overall, all crime across the board is up by two percent in Washington D.C. with 26,097 incidents this year as of December 3, compared to 25,536 cases last year.
Earlier this year, Washington D.C. Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser announced plans to hire 170 more police officers in a bid to curb gun violence in the city.
In July, she said city funds would be used to hire 20 additional police in the 2021 financial year and a further 150 more in 2022.
