Three Massachusetts State Troopers Charged With Overtime Fraud
Boston MA June 28 2018 The FBI arrested two retired State Police troopers and one suspended trooper on Wednesday for allegedly pocketing thousands of dollars for overtime hours they didn’t work in 2016.
There are the first troopers to be charged criminally amid multiple probes into widespread overtime fraud within the troubled state law enforcement agency.
US Attorney Andrew E. Lelling’s office identified the retired troopers as David W. Wilson, 57, of Charlton and Paul E. Cesan, 50, of Southwick.
The suspended trooper arrested Wednesday is Gary S. Herman, 45, of Chester.
“Let me be clear that today’s charges are the beginning and not the end of this federal investigation,” Lelling said during a late-morning news conference.
