Three Men Guilty in 3 Different Security Officer Homicides

This week three men involved in three different security officer homicides have been found guilty.
Jaylan D. Quinn, 23, pleaded guilty in a United States District Court to fatally shooting a security officer while robbing First Bank in East St. Louis.
Police said Quinn was initially charged with bank robbery resulting in death. And then-19-year-old Andrew Brinkley, the second man, was charged with bank robbery in August 2021.
According to court documents, Quinn and Brinkley entered the bank located at 350 River Park Drive at about 4 p.m. on Aug. 27.
Ted Horn, 56, of St. Libory, Illinois was working at the bank as a security guard and tried to stop the men, but Quinn pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and shot Horn in the head. Horn died at the scene of the robbery.
Quinn faces life in prison.
Armando Diaz took a plea deal in New York this week in the death of Tony Ramirez who was working as a security officer at a nightclub.
The two fought and then Diaz fled and was arrested several weeks later.
Diaz plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to twelve years in prison.
In Las Vegas, a man accused of attacking, assaulting, and causing the death of a security officer has also taken a plea deal according to the media release.
A judge sentenced Pedro Lizano, 35, to a minimum of 28 months in prison.
Lizano, faced a murder charge in the homicide of Randy Lyons, a security officer who had approached Lizano at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino after he had caused a disturbance.
Lizano “forcefully and aggressively shoved” him, causing him to fall backward, police said. Lyons’ head hit the pavement, knocking him unconscious and causing bleeding, eventually leading to his death police said.
Las Vegas Metro police records show officers have arrested Lizano 49 times since 2008. Officers also cited Lizano 10 times; records showed.
