Tulsa police say that a security guard working at a bar was shot and killed overnight after an argument.
Tulsa police say it happened around 1:20 a.m. outside DD’s Double Shots near 11th and Sheridan.
It started as an argument between a DJ and security from the bar, identified as 38-year-old Nathan Hull, and a man identified as Chris Bratton in the parking lot.
“He brought laughter to people when they were sad,” said Jennifer Luong, Hull’s coworker and friend. “He brought comfort to people that were hurting.”
Through the investigation, detectives learned that Hull and another witness stepped outside to smoke when they found Bratton possibly attempting to break into cars. When they told him to leave, Bratton pulled out a gun and fired twice, hitting Hull in the chest.
Bratton then ran off down the street.
Witnesses from the bar followed the suspect down the road to a gas station where they say he tried to hide his gun in the purse of a stranger. Officers arrested him on the scene and retrieved the gun.
