TN security guard attacked with nail
Shelbyville TN November 27 2019 A security guard working a concert at Calsonic Arena was allegedly attacked by a man who pushed a nail into his head Saturday night, Shelbyville police said.
Eridanni Leon Quintero, 27, of Murfreesboro was charged with aggravated assault and public intoxication.
Security guard William Duckworth told police he and security firm owner Rick Gann were escorting Quintero from the arena due to his friends and he allegedly smoking and causing problems.
Quintero allegedly struck Gann with the nail and ran into the parking lot, where he was caught by Duckworth and guard Joseph Grant.
Quintero, who Officer Michael Taylor described as “very belligerent and aggressive,” was released on $11,000 bond
- Another attendee, Ezequal Guzman, 21, who is listed as “homeless” in a police report, was charged with possession of a schedule II drug and public intoxication after security guard Rebecca Boyce found cocaine in his clothing, police said. Guzman was held on $3,500 bond
- Another security guard was accused of spraying a young woman in the face with pepper spray after she and friends were ordered to leave the arena.
The woman was consuming alcohol despite not having an armband allowing drinking, the guard told police. According to the guard, she went “hands on” with the woman when she refused to leave and sprayed the substance after being struck in the face.
The guard has not been charged.
The venue was hosting Huapango Fest, a concert featuring popular artists Grupo Legitimo and opening act Pepe Tovar. Huapango is a Mexican folk dance.
