Truck stop security guard charged in casino robbery
ST MARTINVILLE, La. February 10 2019
Police said that a reported armed robbery was not what it seemed and has made an arrest of one man and they currently seeking a second person in the casino robbery.
Originally, a security guard at the Races and Aces truck stop Casino reported that an armed man came into the business and robbed the place and then fled.
But, after investigation, police arrested the security guard identified ad Payton Byrd and have booked him on 1 count of principle to armed robbery.
St Martinville police say Byrd was working at the time of the robbery when Devin Bourda allegedly pointed what appeared to be an object inside a black sock at Byrd and a clerk.
The clerk surrendered an unknown amount of cash, and Bourda fled on foot.
Bourda is wanted for one count of armed robbery, police say.
