WHEATLAND, Calif. Dec 27 2021
The Wheatland Police Department arrested a Nevada County man who they said made a threat against a school almost two hours away from him in Yuba County.
Truckee resident Dominic White, 22, was arrested after he threatened to “shoot up” Wheatland Union High School on social media, the police department said in a release on Facebook.
Authorities said they were made aware of the social media post on Thursday afternoon.
“We take all threats against our schools, children and residents seriously and will relentlessly pursue anyone who threatens our community,” said Chief Damiean Sylvester.
White was arrested and booked into the Nevada County Jail for making criminal threats, the release said. He is awaiting extradition to Yuba County for prosecution.
