Turlock CA security officer comes under attack
Turlock CA June 13 2018 A man upset at being asked to leave a Turlock shopping center Sunday decided to show his displeasure by attacking a security guard.
The suspect, identified as Jose Perez Gonzalez, 37, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and resisting arrest, according to the Turlock Police Department.
The security guard made contact with Gonzalez shortly after midnight on Sunday in the 700 block of N. Golden State Boulevard.
Since all the businesses were closed in the shopping center, Gonzalez was informed he needed to leave the premises.
His response was to throw a padlock at the guard, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Russ Holeman.
The lock missed hitting the guard, but Gonzalez followed it up by kicking him, according to the police report.
The security guard contacted the police and officers responded to the area to take Gonzalez into custody. Gonzalez allegedly fought with the officers, tearing the uniform of one officer, before he was subdued and taken to the Stanislaus County Jail.
