Two apprehended in theft of casino chips in Louisiana

Police responded Saturday morning after 6 a.m. to a local casino to investigate a reported theft.
When officers arrived, they contacted casino security who said that the suspect was still on the casino gaming floor.
The victim told BCPD that he was playing at the table and had to go to the restroom.
He told officers that “he always leaves his chips at the table and the dealer watches them,” according to the arrest report.
Upon returning to the table his chips were gone.
Security video showed a female suspect taking $2,100 of the victim`s chips, then giving $1,300 of the chips to an accomplice to cash out.
The suspects were located told officers that the victim had told her that she could watch the chips and “do what she wanted to with them,” according to the arrest report.
The suspect, identified as Kayla Nicole Washington, 23, was arrested on a Charge Of Felony Theft.
The male accomplice was booked on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
