Two armored truck security officers injured after truck rollover
HICKORY, N.C. Sept 27 2018 A GardaWorld armored truck crashed and flipped on a wet road Wednesday afternoon which shut down Highway 321 in Hickory in both directions.
Authorities say that the one of the security guards made it out of the vehicle on his own but that the second man had to be rescued by area firefighters.
Firefighters used a ladder truck to rescue the driver, officials said.
The security officers appeared to have only minor injuries.
Multiple police officers also surrounded the vehicle with their patrol cars and set up a security perimeter to protect whatever was inside of the truck witnesses said.
The vehicle was eventually put back on its wheels and towed away from the scene escorted by law enforcement.
