Two Boston Security Guards Stabbed
Boston MA March 15 2021 A 36-year-old Randolph man is facing multiple assault charges after he allegedly stabbed two security men at the Bell in Hand Tavern in Boston on Saturday night, police said.
Alex Brito became disruptive in the tavern on Union Street shortly after 10 p.m., police said in a statement.
When two bouncers tried to get him to leave, he began swinging a knife and cut them, Officer Kim Tavares, a spokeswoman for the Boston Police Department, said in a brief phone interview.
Officers arrived to find Brito struggling with security staff members near the bar on the tavern’s main floor, police said. Other staff members tended the two injured men on the ground.
The men, who were not identified, were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.
Police recovered the knife from the scene. Brito is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court Monday on charges including two counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, making threats, resisting arrest, and additional assault charges, officials said.
