Two Fort Wayne police officers accidentally shot during training
FORT WAYNE, Indiana March 12 2019
Police have confirmed that twoFort Wayne Police officers were wounded last Tuesday in an accidental shooting at the Public Safety Academy, 7602 Patriot Crossing.
Police said that at the conclusion of a training exercise there was an inadvertent discharge of an officer’s weapon, striking that officer and a second officer.
Both were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
While the department acknowledges the incident, they have not released the names of the officers involved.
The Fort Wayne Police Department Internal Affairs Division and the Fort Wayne Police Department Shooting Team arrived on scene and took over the investigation.
No other details have been released.
