Two men charged in Trinidad security guard murder
Trinidad June 8 2019 A 26-year-old Arouca man is the second person to be charged with the murder of Cleavon Frederick.
44-year-old Frederick, an estate constable of Ninth Avenue North, Barataria, was at his workplace at Boundary Liquour Mart, San Juan on January 23 when three gunmen entered and announced a robbery.
The victim was shot during the robbery attempt, before the assailants escaped. Frederick was taken to Eric Williams’ Medical Sciences Centre for treatment where he subsequently died.
Hilton George, was charged with murder and assault with intent to rob, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions, SC Roger Gaspard, on Thursday.
George was arrested by officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 2, on June 1. Investigations were supervised by acting ASP Dhilpaul while charges were laid by PC Hosein, all of HBI Region 2.
Another man, 22-year-old Leon Shukla of Caroni, was charged with Frederick’s murder on January 31.
