TX corrections officer commits suicide at prison

A corrections officer shot and killed himself this week at his security post at a Texas prison.
Andre Arline, 40, was found Sunday at the Ferguson Unit, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
Before he was found, jail staff tried to reach Arline about 6:15 a.m. When he didn’t respond they entered the tower and found his body.
“We ask that you keep his family, friends, and co-workers in your thoughts and prayers,” said Robert Hurst, a spokesman for the Department of Criminal Justice.
Arline, a native of Silsbee, had been working for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice since August 2002.
The Office of Inspector General is investigating the death.
