TX security officer murdered on the job laid to rest

Texas private security officers from across the state was joined by law enforcement officers from municipal, county and state agencies as they came together Monday to honor a fallen officer.
Private Officer International members were also on hand including some who caravaned from other regions of the state led by Lifetime Member Steven Royce, owner of American Paratus Security Agency,
Phillip Molis, 23 was patrolling the San Luis Resort and Spa, a luxury resort on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston when he came upon several suspicious men.
As he approached the men to question them, the men shot Molis up to eleven times and left him for dead in the parking lot as they fled the area.
The officer was rushed to the University of Texas Medical Branch but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
During the funeral, local constables made Molis an honorary constable.
From 2009 to 2012 he was dedicated to the Galveston Explorers. He graduated from Ball High School in 2012 and proceeded to college, joining the police academy in 2014.
He also volunteered his service to many organizations: The Boys and Girls Club, Relay for Life, Galveston Elks Lodge #126, Special People Mardi Gras Ball and Galveston Lassie League. He also took the initiative during special events by helping the Galveston Police Department.
Co-workers at the resort said that Molis was the most dedicated person to his job. He loved his co-workers and the staff and loved being at the hotel. He was considered family to so many people.
He is survived by his father, Felipe Molis, Sr. and mother, Michelle Martine; the aunt and uncle who shared raising him, Uncle Manuel and Aunt Julie; his siblings: Hayden, Kandis, Macy, Mason and Melissa; grandmother, Amalia Kozak and many cousins.
Houston businessman Tilman J. Fertitta who owns the resort also attended the funeral.
