UNC Police find body in The Forest Theater on campus
Chapel Hill NC Sept 6 2021 A body was found in The Forest Theater on the eastern portion of UNC campus early Saturday morning.
UNC Police responded to the call from South Boundary Street around 3:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found a body.
In an alert to students, faculty and staff from Alert Carolina, it was indicated there is no ongoing threat to campus or the surrounding community.
There was a link to a suicide hotline included in the alert, reading, “Anyone who is considering suicide or self-harm is encouraged to contact the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 800-273-8255.”
There was also a link for mental health support services for students and faculty.
It has not been indicated who the person is or whether or not they are a student.
