University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center patient arrested after grabbing security officer by the throat

A University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center patient was arrested on charges of assault and domestic violence after grabbing a security guard by the throat April 19.
At 7:55 a.m., Elyria police officers were dispatched to the UH emergency room, 630 E. River St., for a disturbance with a patient, according to an Elyria Police Department report.
Upon arrival, officers found the patient handcuffed and lying on the floor.
Officers learned April 20 the patient was brought to UH for a psychiatric evaluation, the report said.
The patient was uncooperative and kept roaming around while naked, but eventually was sedated, according to the report.
The security guard said he would pursue an assault charge against the patient.
The patient was transported to the Lorain County Jail and is being held on a $1,000 bond.
