JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – More than nine months after a security guard was shot and killed on Oct. 3, 2024, at the Dragon Arcade on Jacksonville’s Westside, the U.S. Marshals captured a 25-year-old wanted in the murder.
Police and federal law enforcement have been searching for Quraan Osiris Goodman since the shooting, and US Marshals received information that helped them to track Goodman down.
Goodman has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, armed burglary with assault or battery, attempted armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
According to his arrest report, a warrant was issued for Goodman’s arrest on July 2, 2025, and he was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Jacksonville on July 22.
Police said the shooting inside the business on Edgewood Avenue North left Ronald Dewitt Matthews III dead and two other civilians injured.
According to early information from JSO, two masked and armed individuals entered the business and shot the security guard inside that business.
The arrest report said Goodman and another suspect ran from the scene on foot.
Multiple CrimeStoppers tips identified Goodman as a suspect, the report said, which helped lead to his arrest.
