Virginia security guard arrested for multiple shootings at nightclub
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. November 27, 2019
A licensed off-duty security guard has been arrested for shooting three people including a security officer at a Virginia Beach nightclub.
31-year-old Corey Anderson got into an argument with people outside of the nightclub over loud music coming from his vehicle.
It happened near the intersection of N. Great Neck Road and Virginia Beach Boulevard on November 3.
The search warrant states there was loud music coming from Anderson’s car and says he was apparently asked to turn it down by employees and patrons, but an argument broke out and things turned physical.
Police say that nightclub security guards broke up the brawl, but Anderson is accused of walking back to his car, pulling out a gun and opening fire.
Bullets sprayed into a crowd of people in the parking lot just before 2 a.m.
A nearby officer apparently heard gunshots and responded to the area calling EMS and police assistance.
Three people, including a security guard were found shot in the parking lot but survived, according to police.
The suspect fled and was not located on the night of the shooting.
The search warrant states earlier in the night, the suspect allegedly told people he owned private security company.
Police used that information to track him down soon after the shooting, according to the search warrant.
Anderson was arrested for three counts of malicious wounding and use of a firearm.
He’s being held in the Virginia Beach Jail without bond and is expected back in court on December 2.
