Walmart meat manager arrested for mislabeling prices and buying products
GAINESVILLE, Fla. December 27 2019 A Walmart meat manager was arrested Monday after Gainesville Police said he changed the prices for large amounts of meat and bought them for cheap.
According to the arrest report, Thomas Deon Young, 56, was seen on security footage attaching labels with the incorrect weight to meats and bought them with cash using the self-checkout.
Some of the items included racks of ribs averaging $12 labeled for $1 and boxes of crab legs averaging nearly $20 labeled for just $3. The total amount of meat was valued at over $500.
Lost prevention asked Young about the transactions where he admitted to mislabeling the meats.
Young was charged with fraud and was booked at the Alachua County Jail with no bond currently set.
