Warwick Mall Security Detain Man in Lenscrafters Thefts

At approximately 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 21, Officer Brian J. Holleran responded to the Lenscrafters location at Warwick Mall for a report of a shoplifting suspect in the custody of mall security.
At the scene, Holleran spoke with the on-duty manager of the Lenscrafters.
The manager said that shortly after 2:30 p.m. that day, a man and woman entered the store and began browsing the frames on display.
The man was then observing dropping several frames on the ground and dropping one into his bag as he picked them up.
The man left the store and mall security was called. The man was later located and taken into custody by security in the parking lot.
According to the Lenscrafters manager, found in his possession were the frames he had been seen putting into a bag as well as three frames that his companion was seen taking from the store during a review of security camera footage.
Casey Blanchard, 33, 385 Washington St., Apt. 2, West Warwick, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and additionally taken into custody on an active arrest warrant issued from Westerly Police. He was transported to Warwick Police headquarters for processing.
