Washington trio arrested on meth possession and other charges at Mt. Shasta Mall
Redding CA December 1 2018
Wednesday around 4pm, the Redding Police Department’s Neighborhood Police Unit conducted patrols around the Mt. Shasta Mall.
While in the west parking lot near Macy’s, officers were flagged down by people who identified a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot with multiple people inside.
Officers learned they had already been asked to leave by Mt. Shasta Mall security, but refused.
They were later identified as 42 year-old Johnny Gonzalez of Bremerton, Washington and 45 year-old Jeremy Patrick Brown of Port Orchard, Washington.
Brown admitted to being in possession of and recently using methamphetamine. Gonzalez gave officers a false name, trying to evade a non extraditable felony arrest warrant from the State of Washington. Both Gonzalez and Brown became confrontational and were detained.
45 year-old Annette Alene Hutchins of Port Orchard, Washington came out of Macy’s and questioned the reason for both men being detained. Officers noticed she appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and she was also detained.
Officers found 19 grams of methamphetamine, narcotic paraphernalia, illegally possessed prescription medication, and a replica firearm inside their vehicle. Gonzalez, Brown, and Hutchins were arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale. Gonzalez was additionally charged with obstructing a peace officer and providing false information to a peace officer.
All three were transported and booked into the Shasta County Jail.
