WATCH | Brunswick man throws egg off balcony onto Erie County patrol car
Erie County OH Aug 16 2018 A Brunswick man has been arrested after allegedly throwing an egg at an Erie County security officer’s patrol car and posting video of the crime on social media.
According to a police report, the cruiser was parked outside the Kalahari Resort hotel on Sunday afternoon when an egg struck its hood. The car’s officer and another officer noticed a few people on the balcony of one of the rooms, but after questioning learned they were not involved.
Later, however, authorities discovered two different videos of the incident posted on separate Twitter accounts, including one belonging to 22-year-old Jagger Owca.
The video shows a man believed to be Owca throwing an egg basketball-style off a hotel balcony before it lands on the cruiser, at which point he yells, “Connection!”
In one of the videos, police claim Owca can also be heard yelling, “F–k 12 bang bang.” He also appeared to admit to hitting the car in a later tweet referring to the questioning of the people in the other room, writing, “…it was me.”
The officers then found Owca in his room, and after initially denying involvement he apparently confessed after being shown the video. Officials read him his Miranda rights, and Jagger allegedly told them he “made a serious mistake” and “apologized repeatedly, and also admitted to drinking at the time. He also denied that the “F–k 12 bang bang” was meant to be a threat.
Owca was charged with vandalism (a fifth-degree felony) and issued a $10,000 bond. He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
